- I just have to att to this, Joakim is a friend of mine, and currently i have
- his machine here to have a look at it.
-
- After tried to put the rom's the wrong way (rom 0 in socket 1, and rom 1 in
- socket 0) the machine starts in 030-mode, and boot's correcly. However, the
- machine does only work for about a half minute, even with the old 1.4 ROM's
- installed, and everything put as it was in the beginning. Sadly something on
- the motherboard must have got blown. I shall try to cold the machine off, and
- see if it run's longer.

-
- Whell, the card itself works, as i now temporarily have it in my A4000. But,
- even if the A3000 gets cooled down for a while so it would boot if it only had
- 030, it refuses to boot with the 060-card in it. And a flashing power-led won't
- be helped with any new scsi-controllers or anything.
-

- JO> 25MHz as the apollo-manual (a GERMAN manual...gheeze..) says), I've

-
- The machine has rev.11 buster (upgraded previosuly), ramsey-04, dmac-02 and
- scsi-03.
-
- Also, with the appollo card, there were a kind of adaptor that will 'borrow'
- one adress-signal from the rom sockets, and feed that to the scsi-chip. Can
- anyone explayn what this is realy good for, and should the 060 boot without it
- (but no motherboard-scsi), and should the machine boot with the adapter but
- without the 060-card, or ?
-
- Also, if i follow the schematic of A3000, the adapter connects to pin 9, which
- goes to a jumper that can select between the adress-signal also available at
- pin 1 of the rom's, or ground. That jumper doesn't exist, there are only place
- for it on the motherboard. Shall i try to patch the adaptor to use the signal
- at pin1 of the rom sockets instead, or what signal should realy be there ? Are
- the schematics in the A3000 manuals supplied with erratic at this point ?
-
- Anyway, the machine shouldn't flash the led's and refuse to boot, even if there
- is no scsi-chip at all, or ? Atleast, it should be possible to boot of
- floppy...
-
- JO> My 2c's: I have a faulty motherboard, or, I have a faulty Fast-slot,
- JO> or, I have a motherboard to old, or, my Proto-chip is to old (Rev 03),
- JO> or, the 060-card is faulty, as well as the 3.1 ROMs.
-
- Does anyone know if it's possible to insert the A4000's EC030-card in the turbo
- socket, just to verify that the socket works correctly ? (If i can, i have to
- use enforcer or so to check that it's actually the EC030 and not the 030 on the
- motherboard that run's, as they will be exactly same speed).
-
- JO> Any input would be greatly appreciated since I've already started
- JO> tearing my hair of, and I didn't have that much to begin with...
-
- The 060-card was also thested first with SC-ZIP's and then DIL's, with no luck.
-
- Another question, when i run Joakim's 060-card in my A4000 (rev.9 buster), his
- cybervision64-card refuses to work, but it worked when i had the EC030 in. The
- driver in devs:monitors fail with code $80000004, which is illegal istruction
- AFAIK. I have the supplied 68060,68040 and 68o4o.library supplied with the
- 060-card installed and setpatch from wb 3.1. I only have 3.0 rom's in my A4000.
-
- As he intend to use the cybervision with the appollo-060 in his A3000, it's in
- his concern that we get the combination to work also, but the first problem to
- fix is ofcource his blown A3000...
